Betting High on Gaming

While most of the products and services provided by companies worldwide are cyclical in nature, there are very few consumer sectors that provide investment opportunity no matter what business cycle the economy is in. One such industry is gambling. Irrespective of the economic condition, there is always footfall in a casino or a betting hall. In order to diversify a portfolio, gaming is one of the interesting sectors to be invested in. The industry itself has a strong lobby which would not let it fall. One need not apply for a gaming licence or invest in a casino to raise a bet for this sector. Bond market and stock markets provide various options to gain exposure to gaming business.
Before venturing into investing, let's learn few basic things about the industry. Gaming involves a host of betting activities such as betting on races and sports events, casinos, poker, and slot machines. These companies can be one of the two types: American-styled gaming which is modelled after the destination based gambling and European-styled gaming which consists of retail betting shops. With the advent of internet a third type of gaming companies have emerged which focus only online gaming. This involves both the suppliers of software and operating platform and host gambling companies which provide gaming products to customers online.
Historically, all forms of gaming activities were considered illegal. Many illegal operators existed on regional level due to existence of strong demand for the sector. This led to change in the perception of gambling activities and governments across world legitimised gambling labelling it to be leisure or recreational activity. This resulted in widespread development of casinos (mainly in US) and betting shops (in Europe). With the changing times, new products were added such as slot machines, off course betting, telephone betting and ultimately to online betting. While most of the countries are which allow gambling are silent on online gambling, European countries have been the pioneers in the field. In 2000s, UK followed by Italy and Spain legalised online gaming, giving way for new kind of players in the markets.
Though highly regulated, both land-based gambling and online gambling have turned into lucrative business. Investors will to enter gaming sector could invest in some of the companies which have their shares listed in stock exchanges for instance William Hill. Also, few of the gaming companies have bonds outstanding, giving good opportunities for fixed income investors to gain exposure to this sector. However, the sector is highly regulated, exposed to technological changes and has high operational gearing. Investors are advised to hire financial advisors who will be able to access these risks associated with the bond, match it with risk appetite of clients and provide recommendations for investments.

How to Level Up Quickly in WoW

What is the key to how to level up quickly in WoW?
Honestly there are several things you can do to ensure you are able to level a character in the shortest time possible and these days just 3-4 days played time should be a reasonable expectation if you are doing the right things.
With the introduction of guild achievement awhile ago, Blizzard made joining a guild with leveling perks a must for anyone looking to power level characters. Most people will immediately look for a level 25 guild as soon as they create a new character because they know they will get an immediate experience boost from questing.
Questing vs. Battlegrounds vs. Running Dungeons
There has been a long running debate over the fastest way to level in WoW when it comes to questing, battlegrounds and running dungeons.
I have leveled dozens of characters and tried all three methods several times as well as a combination of them.
Battlegrounds are great when you are able to get into the weekly Call To Arms and you are winning. Regular BGs and losing drop your experience per hour to one of the lowest rates.
Running dungeons is a great way to get gear while you level pretty fast. The problem with dungeons is the wait time to get into one and if you get into bad groups your experience per hour can actually be pretty bad.
Questing was set up by Blizzard as their preferred method for players to level because it will immerse you into the various story lines in the game and allow you to experience everything the game has to offer.
It is the very best experience per hour of any leveling method although many players get burned out on questing as it becomes kind of a grind.
I prefer to use a combination of questing and running dungeons because I can quest while I wait to get into a dungeon and I have a chance to get some very nice blue gear upgrades while doing a dungeon.
This also makes sure you are simply not sitting waiting for a dungeon to pop up which lowers your experience per hour because you are not doing anything to gain experience.
Having as much bag space as possible will increase your leveling rate because you can go longer without having to find places to sell items and clear out bag space. You should never just leave loot sitting on the ground as pretty much everything you pick up can be sold for in game currency.
I use a good in game WoW Quest Addon WoW Quest Addon to power level through questing while I wait for dungeons to maximize my playing time.

The Best Facebook Games That Are Fun To Play

Here are some really cool Facebook games that I enjoy playing. So I am going to introduce them to you.
Dragon City
Now Dragon City is my all-time favorite Facebook game. This game reminds me of Pokemon so much. You enter an island where you get to breed dragons. Your goal is to breed all the different dragons available to you and enter combat against other player's dragons. There are mainly 8 different basic elements that you can breed at first. Eventually, you will want to get some hybrid dragons so you can mate some rare and powerful dragons. Once you are able to get the Legendary Dragon, you will have an easier time in the player league and dragon tournaments. It can be a very addictive game, so you might want to play it at a moderate pace.
Candy Crush Saga
This game can be fun and also a hair puller at times. So this is rather similar to bejeweled, but you replace them with candies. The cool part about it is that you can make some really special candies that help you clear the puzzle. The basic premise of the game is that you have to complete your stage by either removing the selected squares, collect fruits, achieve a certain amount of points or clear the stage with a time limit. There are many combos that you can use to help you attain your goal. If you line up 4 in a row you get a color candy that can wipe out an entire row vertically or horizontally. There is also the candy bomb that can blast an area of 3x3 or 5x5 if you can manage to get 2 combined together. They are extremely powerful. There is also the chocolate candy that can clear the same colored candy.
This game is also extremely challenging sometimes because some stages require some thinking for a bit before making a move. The beginning puzzles can be easy and require not much brain power. However, as you get to the latter stages starting from 50 plus, they amp up the difficulty. You can buy Facebook credits to help you get some bonus special abilities to clear the puzzle, but I wouldn't recommend it as it really takes away the challenge of the game. Sometimes, I spend as much as an hour trying to solve one of the puzzles. I would definitely recommend this game to puzzle game lovers. It really will get you addicted as well, so let me warn you beforehand!
These 2 are my favorite Facebook games so far. If you have some leisure time, be sure to check them out!

Preview Xbox One Controller

We were first taken aback by the Nintendo's introduction of the Wiimote. Stunned by Sony's Eyetoy and played some really competitive matches on Kinect Sports. Though what the core gamers want is just your standard controller. We don't need motion controls to play games; we demand that we have something in our hand with thumbsticks and triggers. There aren't any Major League Gaming tournaments for Wii Sports, right?
Now that I'm at E3 I had to get my hands on a controller from the next generation of consoles. The first I got to play with is the Xbox One's. Microsoft hasn't had a perfect track record with controllers- anyone remember the Duke controller from the original Xbox? Luckily, this controller is more Xbox 360 then the Duke. The first thing you'll notice is that it looks a little bit bigger than a 360 controller. It's just an illusion; if anything it felt more comfortable and snug in my hands than the previous one ever did.
The most important thing in my opinion that they absolutely had to improve on was the D-Pad. The directional pad on the Xbox 360 was unresponsive, clunky and just a mess. On the Xbox One's version, it's sleek (in a good way), fast and it makes a delightful click when you apply pressure on the pad. I'm curious to see how well a fighting game will play with this new controller.
Call of Duty and Halo are the Xbox's most popular games; they're both shooters and you constantly have to use both analog sticks. So was there a way to improve the already great analog sticks from the 360? It sure feels like they did. The analog sticks felt light but sturdy and seemed to be quite accurate. Dare I say console gaming is getting closer to the accurate feeling of a mouse on a computer?
Another issue I had with the Xbox 360 gamepad is the Xbox Guide button. It's located in the top middle portion of the controller and you can accidentally hit it. Microsoft decided to make it flat (and thus harder to push unintentionally) and put it at the very top of the controller. This was a smart location for the button and I don't see many people hitting it in the middle of gameplay.
Along with the other various upgrades made from the Xbox 360 controller, the triggers got some love as well, with rumble added to each. This sounds absurd but once you try it for yourself, you'll begin to wonder why we didn't have this before. When I was playing Forza 5, I was power sliding into a sharp turn and you could feel the tires squeal across the pavement through the trigger rumbles. It was subtle and added to the immersive feeling.
There are only a couple of things I had complaints about, most notably the left and right bumpers. They seem to have made them quite a bit bigger and while playing Crimson Dragon they didn't exactly feel great as I tried to barrel roll out of the way of projectiles. This could also be a problem with the game but the buttons themselves were just okay. This is no means a major issue and I'm sure it will just take some time getting used to.
Overall, I'm very impressed with the way Microsoft upgraded the Xbox 360's controller into this new sexier model for the Xbox One. I was very fond of the Xbox 360's gamepad and was admittedly nervous with the thought that they might change it. Microsoft put my fears to rest and I'm happy to say this is one of the best feeling controllers of all time.

Who Will Win? - Xbox One Vs PlayStation 4

Even though Microsoft adjusted their strategy and finally dropped some of the bad-perceived aspects of the Xbox One, the rival's console, Sony PlayStation 4, seems to be ahead for the time being, in the race for the best next gen gaming console. Let us take a look on how things worked out so far between the two giants and what factors influenced the public opinion to lean towards Sony's product.
When talking about games, both Sony and Microsoft managed to present balanced products at E3 this year. However, gamers tend to think that Sony will come up with better games and will provide these exclusively for PS4, as they did in the past with PS3, and these will be better than the ones available for Xbox (like on Xbox 360).
According to Forbes, the odds that PlayStation 4 will sell better than Xbox One are rising every day, and Microsoft is the one to blame.
Xbox One presentation at E3 was a great example on how not to announce a new console. While Sony got a round of applause when they confirmed that PS4 will run old and rented games and it doesn't require permanent Internet connection, Microsoft suffered a big hit. Even though they said they won't go further with the restrictions, the general idea most people in the audience got is that, for Xbox One makers it is more important to score sales that satisfy the customers. Microsoft adopted Sony's strategy on games, but it seems it's too late, as PS4 is preferred by games, and this opinion will probably convert into sales.
Another important point was scored by PS4 when they announced the prices for the consoles. Originally valued the same, Sony decided to remove the PS4 Eye from the new PlayStation Standard package, and sell it separately. That reduced the console's costs and it is now cheaper by 100 euros than the Xbox One.
The beating Xbox took socially and the privacy concerns regarding the impossibility to disconnect the Kinect while you are playing will surely cost Microsoft and seriously affect the sales, the first ones at least.
If we are talking priorities, Sony seems to have taken the lead as well, starting from the media presentation. While the PlayStation 4 is presented as the best choice a gamer could make, Xbox One is going on the all-in-one road, saying it's a gaming platform, that could become a box set and home entertainment package, things that don't present much interest to most gamers. We don't know the final result of this war between the two giants, but it's clear the first battle was won by Sony. We'll have to wait to see what happens this autumn with them to make an idea for ourselves about the outcome.

Xbox One or PlayStation 4: The Polls Are in Which Plays Out Better

Both Xbox One and PlayStation 4 are officially revealed. There will be many comparisons and reviews and you may change your mind a few times before you decide to buy one. Judging by the information gathered from both events, we decided to make our version of comparison.
Both gaming consoles are using almost the same hardware specs inside their bodies. The only difference is in the RAM type. The PS4 uses GDDR5 8GB RAM and the Xbox One uses 8GB DDR3 RAM.
The GPU on the PS4 could perform 50% better than the Xbox One With the faster graphic memory you will get a better gaming experience on the PS4. Xbox One gave better real-time graphics.
Both controllers have been redesigned and they look better than their predecessors.
The PS4 controller includes a clickable touch pad, which will give developers better options when they design a game. On the front side of it, you can see the light bar which enables the motion control placed on the PS4. From here, the Eye camera tracks the controller position and does some adjustments during multiplayer gaming. For accomplishing this, Xbox One is using Kinect help and auto-tracks the person who holds the controller. PS4 controller has Share button, headphone jack and speaker.
For connecting the controller, Xbox One is using Wi-Fi Direct while PS4 is using Bluetooth 2.1. Xbox One leads in this round, because Wi-Fi Direct is using 250Mbps and Bluetooth 2.1 is using 3Mbps maximum speed.
Voice control and motion
The Xbox One will be "awake" all the time and you just need to say "Xbox On" and the machine will be ready for gaming. Signing on to your account has never been easier because Xbox one uses facial recognition to do that. Sony has announced that its camera will have the similar facial recognition feature.
Price and availability
We can expect the Xbox One launch in November for a price of $499. The PS4 will be available on the market right before the holidays for $399. If you choose the PS4 over the Xbox One, in 2014 you will get the cloud gaming service. This will offer you a catalog of PS3 games which are compatible with PS4. It seems, PlayStation 4 will be the better choice because Microsoft has no plans for its gaming console.
Other features
Playing used games is not offered by the Xbox One and it requires check-ins to play a game. PS4 users can play games offline as long as they like.
Although PS4 came out as the better console in this battle, let's give Xbox a try to see which gaming experience we liked better.

Why You Need A Mobile Website?

At some point in the next two years, the amount of internet traffic from mobile devices such as cellphones and tablet computers will exceed that from traditional devices such as laptop computers. This is a major turning point for the web, and as a result, a large number of business owners are taking the opportunity of a website refresh to make their site more accessible on mobile devices. This is done either through the use of an adaptive or responsive design, or alternatively a dedicated mobile site that behaves more like an app.
Of course, not everyone has the budget free to create a new website outside their normal development schedule, and as a result, making an investment in a mobile website can be quite expensive and impactful on a business, as once cross device testing and QA has been carried out, the overall cost can be considerable.
Making the case for a mobile website is something that business owners need to do before embarking on a project to develop a new platform to identify whether the benefits of such a change are considerable enough to justify the cost.
The first thing to look at is your current levels of traffic. The overall mobile device traffic share by country varies considerably, but on average it is around 30% of visitors. Some industries will have a bigger need for mobile friendly web design than others. For example, if your business sells replacement windshields for cars, then users are likely to be on the move when they need your service, and will almost certainly need a mobile experience to make buying easier, however this is not always the case.
Once you have investigated the overall traffic to your website, it is then important to look at the difference in conversion rates between mobile and desktop traffic. If your conversion rate on mobile devices is considerably lower than you see on a laptop computer, and the volume of traffic is quite high, then the chances are that you're missing out on revenue.
As an example: An online retailer gets 1000 visits to their website each month overall, of which 300 are from mobile devices. Their conversion rate on desktop computers is 5%, while their conversion rate on cell phones is 1%. This means that they get 35 sales from computer users, but only 3 sales from mobile users. If their mobile friendly site was able to get the same conversion rate that their desktop optimized design could, then they'd be able to secure an additional 12 sales per month.
Depending on the value of those sales, the additional revenue might well justify the investment in a new responsive website design for the retailer without any further consideration.
It's all too easy to simply jump on the bandwagon of mobile design without considering whether there is a cost benefit to your business from the investment in a new platform. Of course, if you are in the process of engaging a new designer for a new website for your business, or simply redesigning your site anyway, then it does make sense to ensure that compatibility with as wide a range of devices as possible is designed into the site from the beginning to maximise the return that your site will deliver.
In the last two years alone, mobile traffic has grown enormously. A lot of CT web design companies are venturing to responsive design for their clients website.
As more of your competition go mobile, developing a mobile-friendly website gets to be more of a consideration for your business website.

PHP, a Language for Dynamic Web Applications

PHP is widely used scripting language to create dynamic websites and web applications. Today, PHP frameworks have enhanced the general format of PHP coding for the development of website applications. It is becoming highly useful for PHP programmers who are using these frameworks to develop innovative web applications. This language is becoming a standard in the world of web programming by its performance, reliability, flexibility and speed.
The Features of PHP
Learning PHP
PHP is a language called "high level" whose syntax is very close to the C language. This syntax which is close to natural language ensures fast learning and few constraints writing code itself. However, the rapid control of its syntax does not mean control of its features and concepts. A good knowledge and advanced use of PHP programming requires relatively long learning time.
Rich PHP
One of the strengths of PHP is its richness in terms of functionality. In fact, it has led to more than 3,000 native functions ready guaranteeing developers to overcome additional development time and sometimes tedious.
PHP also draws its wealth in its vibrant developer community. The profiles of community developers are very diverse.
From a performance standpoint, PHP needs a web server to run. All pages requested by a client will be built by the web server, depending on the parameters passed, before being returned to the client.
A reliable and efficient language
The language has now become a reliable language, efficient and viable. It is capable of supporting sites and millions of daily requests. Many companies nationally and internationally renowned trust PHP for the development of their website.
PHP for other application areas
PHP is not necessarily limited to the issue of dynamic web pages. For example it can be used from the command line through the use of executable php. PHP has also the ability to create applications that run without heavy server or browser.
Another highlight of PHP is its ability to interface easily with many management systems relational databases (RDBMS). Among them, we can find MySQL, Oracle, SQLite, MSSQL, PostgreSQL... With these systems coupled with PHP; it is possible to distribute applications across multiple servers. The second interest is to make it even more dynamic application.
The opportunities are many and we will not detail them all because we would stay there for hours. Nevertheless in this article, we have retained a list of core capabilities.
To conclude, PHP has a bright future ahead of it and that its future is still very promising with its new features and capabilities. It also brings along with it a more professional touch because it is intended especially for advanced and professional users.

Three Components Every Successful Internet Marketing Strategy Needs

Is your company just starting to have an online presence or is your current business ready for an "online" change? Creating an internet marketing strategy is important for any business with an online presence. Businesses who create a strategy can obtain higher goals because they know the overall purpose of each website, social media, and publication. Creating a successful internet marketing strategy identifies and outlines a business's website design, social media and keywords.
Website Maintenance and Design:
The first step in designing an internet marketing strategy is to determine the overall look and feel of the website. This is the customer's first impression of the business and you want to make it count. The look and feel of a website should represent the company's overall goals. It should have a clear Call to Action, meaningful images and logos and content that will help boost SEO results. Customers should not feel overwhelmed by the website and there should be a site map to assist customers. Once these things have been determined, it is time to move onto the social media marketing.
Social Media Marketing:
Aligning the social media platforms with a company's website is essential in generating repeat customers and building relationships. The headers and profile pictures should align with the overall look and feel of the website. Profile pages should be actively maintained and engage customers attention. When outlining social media in an internet marketing strategy, it is important to make sure they are meaningful pages and can serve as a hub for customers to interact with your business. Your strategy should identify the main goal, call to action and build and maintain relationships with new and existing customers.
Search Engine Optimization:
Keywords are the key component to ensuring customers will be able to find your website and utilize it to its full potential. Keyword searches should be ran initially to determine what keywords will rank search engine results. To ensure your keywords are still utilized, run monthly reports so that you can stay up to date with needs and searches of customers. Businesses should use both long tail and short tail keywords to help redirect potential buyers to the website.
Making sure your search engine marketing strategy has these three components will help businesses stand out among competitors. If an internet marketing strategy is lacking one of these components, it could seriously damage your online presence. A Beginners Guide To Remote Installation

When you have the option of being able to gain access to your computers remotely, you will immediately begin to see how much of an advantage this actually is. Remote access means that you can gain access to one or more of your computers from a different computer at another locale. This means that if you are at the office and you have some work that is stored on your computer at home, you will be able to access your computer from any of the terminals at your office and retrieve the information directly. This will save you the time and effort of having to travel home and back to the office, and as they say, time is money. Also, if you run a business that has computer terminals at more than one location, and you need to update them with the latest firmware updates or anti-virus software, then you can do this without having to travel to each computer in turn.
Before You Get Started
The one thing that you need to remember before you start is that you need to make sure that you have all of the computers that you want to access remotely, connected to the internet. Plus this internet connection needs to be the fastest that you can possibly get, and you will also need to own a router that has the capacity to fully support what is known as port forwarding. Then once all of this is in place, you need to program all of your computers to allow remote access.
The Next Step
One of the problems with setting up your computers to allow remote access is that they become more vulnerable to attack from outsiders. To circumvent any trouble from outsiders, you can set up a firewall to prevent hackers from gaining access to the confidential information, plus you can also setup a password to protect your computer from unauthorized access. To remain 100% secure, both the firewall and the password will need to be updated at regular intervals.
You can see that the setting up of your computers for remote access is not as difficult as it may have first appeared, so long as you take the right security precautions. Ignoring the potential threats to your computer can have dire consequences, as you will be leaving your confidential information at risk from outsiders as well as hackers who could download viruses onto your computers.

Crimson Dragon Preview

One of the most exciting things about this year's E3 Expo has to be the new consoles. Last year we had Wii U but this time Nintendo has some serious competition from Sony and Microsoft. As I raced through the halls I tried to find an Xbox One or a PlayStation 4 game to test out first. When I waddled through the crowded Xbox Show Room, I was greeted with Crimson Dragon. It's an Xbox One exclusive and it comes from the genius Yukio Futatsugi, the creator of three previous Panzer Dragoon titles.I even had the opportunity to meet Mr. Futatsugi as he was standing right behind me watching me play his game. So how was the title? Fun, but seemed pretty buggy. Keep in mind this is a work in progress- this game isn't an Xbox One launch title so it still has a ways to go before its release.
The first thing I noticed was that the controls seemed a bit off. The dragon I was controlling seemed a little bit floaty- then again, it is a dragon, right? You also have the ability to play on the Xbox One's new Kinect sensor bar if you choose but according to a Microsoft representative they wanted to give the consumer both options. Every time I asked a question I was greeted with the standard "It's a work in progress but everything is improving." This game was still very fun to play.
The E3 demo starts with you racing out of a lava-filled cave on your dragon. There's plenty to shoot at with your scaly friend, like the fiery, floating jellyfish- like creatures that I unleashed my beast on. While holding down the right trigger you can lock onto enemies on the screen and once you let go of the trigger you release the energy at the baddies. There was also a lightning based attack that I didn't really bother with since it seemed a little bit undeveloped.
If you're familiar with the Panzer Dragoon titles, then you know that they're on-rail shooters. You don't really have to worry about where you're going forward- the game does it for you; you just have to be able to dodge numerous projectiles and things in the environment. There were stalagmites hanging down from the cave ceiling that my character automatically clipped through without suffering any damage. I found it entertaining to see my horrifying dragon phasing through the rocks. Again, this game has a ways to go in development.
The Microsoft representative told me that this game is all about scoring against your friends. This will no doubt have a leaderboard online where you can track your best times and scores with other people across Xbox Live. This game also has cooperative multiplayer as well, just in case you and your dragon get lonely blasting by yourselves.
Another cool feature is that you can evolve your dragon. He will change visually and will obviously become more powerful. I mean, the dragons already look more intimidating than the ones found in Skyrim; we'll see how crazy they'll get once you hit max level with them. This is the feature that really has me excited to try this when it's released.
While I played the demo, I eventually got to a mini-boss. It looked like a huge fire dragon creature that surfaced from the lava. The main way to beat him is to dodge his incoming fire projectiles with the left and right bumper; that way you can swirl and twirl around his blasts. He was easy enough and we were off again. The final boss of the demo came swooping down and was incredibly gorgeous. The lighting seemed to shine off his white scales and teeth. To defeat this foe, I generally used the same tactics I used with the mini-boss but I took a significant amount of damage. Once beaten, the demo ends and shows an even bigger dragon eating this one.
This game was originally set to appear on the Xbox 360 but they changed gears and decided to just upgrade the game during development into an Xbox One title. You can more or less see that it was an Xbox 360 game. The graphical power of the Xbox One wasn't really shown; some of the textures in the lava looked a little bit bland. I was told they're going to take advantage of the new hardware and add many more enemies on screen than the original Xbox 360 version could have included.
I was impressed to see that this game came out of nowhere and it's already playing pretty well. It's going to be interesting to see how this fan favorite series does on the next generation. I'm intrigued to see how they're going to use the new Xbox One's Kinect sensor as well. Only time will tell but the future looks incredibly bright for Crimson Dragon.

Mario Kart 8 Preview

At this year's E3 it was a struggle to even get inside the Nintendo booth. The lines were incredibly long, the floor space was overly crowded and you just couldn't get from one game to another. Luckily, I got to play one of the Wii U's biggest games, and that was Mario Kart 8. I'm a huge fan so I was pretty pumped to get some hands on time. Keep in mind, the build I played at E3 this year was very much a work in progress.
Starting out, you have the option to use either the Wii U's gamepad tilt controls or the classic analog and buttons. Being a purist, I had to stick with the traditional controls. I found that the tilt controls seemed more or less twitchy so I figured I should just stick with what I understood. Before the game started, of course you had to pick your character. Personally, I can't play a Mario Kart game and not be Mario.
When the game has loaded the first thing you'll notice is that it's gorgeous. I can confidently say that this game is easily the best looking Wii U game to date. It had incredibly vivid colors, the environments looked alive and characters seemed almost like something out of a Pixar movie. Even the items seemed to get an overhaul- I never thought that green turtle shells could look so beautiful.
But visuals don't mean anything if the gameplay isn't there. And for the most part it is. There were a lot of features that weren't available during the E3 demo. For example, in Mario Kart 7 you can collect coins on the track to give your kart a boost but in the E3 build the coins were there but they didn't provide anything.
What there was one of Mario Kart 8's new features: anti-gravity sections. On certain parts on the track, your kart will transform its wheels to jet engines that will grip the track as you go upside down and side to side. It was a neat feature and it looked cool but it didn't really add anything to the gameplay. Then again, I only saw a couple of tracks and this game was just announced this month. I hope Nintendo really goes buck wild with this feature because I could totally see it becoming something really fun and different. It's just a shame that during the E3 build it was rarely showed off.
Despite the new features, the gameplay remained basically the same. It's still the old Mario Kart. You'll get better items if you're lagging behind, and you'll probably only get a banana or a green turtle shell if you're in first place. It's almost as if you're rewarded if you decide to stay in the back until the last lap of the race. I feel like they really need to change this up somehow.
Basically, if you've ever played a Mario Kart game in your life, you've played Mario Kart 8. It's unfortunate but true. I mean, if you absolutely love Mario Kart, then you'll have a great time. Everyone else might get bored with the limited gameplay. Granted, this is a very early look at the game and there's sure to be more features added but for right now it's basically Mario Kart 7.5.
It's no secret that the Wii U isn't exactly performing admirably. What seems to be the case is that the games just aren't there. I'm very confident this game will be a system seller, and hopefully down the line Nintendo will add downloadable content to the game post launch. I think what they will need to do is add more tracks, karts and characters to keep people interested. That's one of the main problems with the Mario Kart franchise; it just gets stale after too long. They have a golden opportunity with the next console generation to completely change that.
Sure, it has always been undeniably fun but it's never been a game to keep you occupied. It's like candy: it's nice to have once in awhile but you don't want to keep eating it, when something like Zelda or an actual Mario game is a better main course. I'm hoping with the next iteration of Mario Kart that they'll add more depth and unlockables to keep the player coming back. If Nintendo would take their time with the Mario Kart games maybe we'll have a more absorbing title. I'm very optimistic about Mario Kart 8 and most likely it'll be a must have for any Wii U owners regardless of how hollow the series might be.

Top 5 Gaming Mice Below $40

If you tried looking for a gaming mouse you might've noticed that a lot of them tend to be quite expensive. They have things like weight kits, extensive customizability, 8200 DPI and about 20 buttons. But for people who aren't interesting in these features, those who just want a gaming mouse that works, they're obviously not willing to invest $100+ on such gaming mice. Thankfully, there are a lot of more affordable mice available, and they don't even lose that many features. So here follows my top 5 best gaming mice below $40.
#5: CM Storm Xornet - price: $26
The Xornet is a rather small mouse designed for the claw grip. It uses an optical sensor that can go from 500, 1000, to a maximum of 2000 DPI. The button amount totals in 5, two of them being on the side. There are also two dedicated DPI buttons below the scroll wheel. Both sides have rubber grips which make the mouse easier to hold. It does lack an on-board memory, if you wish to have one then go for the Storm Spawn which also has 4000 DPI and goes for $36.
#4 ROCCAT Lua Tri-Button - price: $30
The ROCCAT Lua is like a default mouse with gaming-grade engineering. It has a pleasing V-shape and it's ambidextrous as well. Its optical sensor can go from anything in between 200 to 2000 DPI in seven step increments. Just like with the Xornet it comes with rubber side grips and one dedicated DPI button. The mouse is also build to last with its Omron switches and excellent scroll wheel that locks into place well after every increment.
#3 Perixx MX-2000B - price: $32
The MX-2000B offers a lot of features associated with higher price points. These features include a whopping eleven buttons, all of which are programmable, a laser sensor that can handle up to 5000DPI and weight tuning cartridges. Furthermore it comes with 5 user profiles that allow you to save your settings on the mouse itself. Its right-handed design is very comfortable with textured side grips and a cradle on the left side where you can easily rest your thumb.
#2 Razer Abyssus - price: $32
Its motto is "back to basics", and that's exactly what it does. The Razer Abyssus utilizes a 3.5G infrared sensor with DPI that can be toggled between 450, 1800 and 3500. The mouse is very lightweight and well designed, it fits well into your hand regardless of what style or hand you use. The DPI and polling rate can effortlessly be changed on the bottom of the mouse itself without any need for software. Last but not least the mouse is very durable with a great scrolling wheel and Omron switches.
#1 Anker laser gaming mouse - price: $40
The Anker offers without a doubt the most features for its price. The laser sensor can go up to 8000 DPI in 200 step increments and offers four profiles. There are 9 buttons that can be reprogrammed in the software. Speaking of the software, you can switch between 2 on-board profiles, customize the light in 16 million colors and it comes with a full macro editor. Game Over? Not Anymore!

Video games have been condemned by almost every parent and every news organization around the world, claims like they increase violence in children, waste time, results in poor eyesight and so many other claims. Some of these claims maybe true, but this does not negate the fact that there are a lot of benefits behind playing video games. First before I get into the benefits, let me first state the age range that play video games and see what sort of issues these people could encounter and how video games could help resolve them. From what I've seen from my own experiences and listening to others, the age group that play video games could start from 9 years until late 40's. This is a very large age group, and each group have their own issues and problems, from addictions (smoking, drugs and alcohol) to stress from day to day activities which I believe is a default in most age groups. Well, after some research I have found that a very easy and cheap cure compared to drugs are video games. According to research performed in several universities, video games could help reduce stress, improve weight loss and social status, I will do a quick synopsis about each benefit.
Stress and depression have been known these days to be "illness of the century", where prescription pills have reached market sales in 2008 of almost $ 11 billion ( ) and I wouldn't be surprised if this sales volume at least doubled until 2012, but unfortunately I don't have this volume. Of course some cases are only treatable with prescription drugs, but I'm sure that a lot of cases could be resolved with just video games. Studies have shown that video games have the same effect as anti-depressant drugs on the part of the brain that produces dopamine, which is responsible for the mood shift that occurs after ingesting anti-depressant drugs. Now, you get the same result and without the addictive side effects of these drugs. Being absorbed in a game can distract your mind from all pain and discomfort which can then help your brain build up a tolerance to the pain much easier; hospitals are beginning to encourage children to play video games after having a painful injury.
Looking at video games consoles like the Nintendo Wii and the Microsoft Xbox 360, they have taken video games to a new level, were the user will not stay on the couch and look like the lazy stereotype gamer; but it has engaged the user to get up, move and jump around in order to win and to be able to play. These consoles have become very popular, and the demand for more active games has been increasing daily. Now, a lot of the games for these consoles are targeting work out routines and deviating from the typical "game over" style games, it's a work out that could be done daily and a motivator to individuals who have a time constraint to work out in the gym or sporting club.
Some people face some issues in making new friends, and some lack the social skill to become part of a group. But in the vast world of online gaming, these issues are no longer there. You could join any network, and instantly play online with your friends and new ones. You don't have to be good looking or charming, you just need to know how to play and the rest will follow. From my own experiences, I have made friends through gaming networks all over the world, people I would have never met except online and would have never had the connection that we have to day unless we were playing these games. The concept is not being online, but before we say a word to each other, we already have something in common that we like playing this exact game; so you already have a minor foundation in your friendship.
Finally, due to the word limit I could not talk about all the other benefits that result from playing video games, but I'm sure that people will start to realize the importance of these games in a child's upbringing and if controlled could improve your life significantly.

The Top 5 Video Games of 2013

From time to time, assessments are conducted as to which of the available video games are considered the best among the rest. In this article, the focus is on the ranking of the video games based on sales which is reasonable enough since the game with the highest sales is definitely the finest. Otherwise, it will not be patronized by the gamers themselves. Halfway through the year 2013, the NPD Group has released its rankings based on the sales reported by retail outlets for the period January to April. Below are the top 5 video games as reported by NPD Group.
